Abstract

This study investigates the role of project-based learning (PBL) in the development of professionally oriented foreign language skills among senior-stage students. Focusing on the integration of language acquisition with professional tasks, the research explores how PBL facilitates the mastery of technical terminology, enhances communication competence, and fosters collaborative skills. Data were gathered through a structured online survey assessing students’ perceptions of PBL and its effectiveness in preparing them for future professional environments. The results indicate that while PBL is generally regarded as an effective pedagogical approach, students identified the need for more discipline-specific resources, clearer task instructions, and greater alignment of projects with real-world professional activities. The study concludes that the full potential of PBL can be realized through the refinement of task structures, the inclusion of more field-specific materials, and the increased frequency of project-based assignments. These findings suggest that a more tailored approach to PBL can significantly enhance both language proficiency and professional preparedness in the senior stage of education.
